80% cause of depression is unhealthy diet in adults and teenagers

Research is finding a connection between food and brain. A nutritious  and healthy diet is not good for the body only, but it is also great for the brain and mental health too.
Among a lot of causes of depression, one is an unhealthy diet.According to the Psychiatrist Drew Ramsey, an assistant clinical professor at Columbia University  we can improve our mental health by shaping our diets. It also decreases the risk of psychiatric disorders in us. This knowledge is now rising to the concept of food psychiatry.

According to an average, each one from the four Americans is facing mental illness every year. By 2020, depression will be the second huge cause of disability after heart problems and diseases.  The mental illness is not a problem just for elders but also for the teenagers. Almost 17 million kids in The USA face the mental disorder. According to the recent research the mental disorders and depression increases 80% in adults and teens  with the low - quality food.

Now many studies have since been published worldwide to establish a link between quality food and mental disorders  like depression in adults and teenagers.
President of the International Society for Nutritional Psychiatry Research Felice Jacka told," diet is as important to mental health as it is important for physical health and an unhealthy diet is a great factor  for depression".

Almost all  research studies  about food and mental health proved a relation between  unhealthy food and  anxiety. Experts are working to find diet as a treatment plan and making it a substitute for medication and other kinds of treatment. Anyhow, diet affects our immune system,  genes and body response to stress.
